Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is the 8 week ‘gold standard‘ mindfulness training worldwide since 1978. Dr John Patterson has taught this course 40 times over the last 12 years.



Our next 8 week course will be on Thursdays beginning  Thursday October 24th with Orientation and Class #1 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm and will be in-person at Mind Body Studio, Southland Drive, Lexington KY. Classes #1 thru #8 will be 6:00 – 8:30pm.

  • No class on Thanksgiving November 28th.
  • A retreat class is Saturday December 7th from 9am-4pm.
  • The last class is Thursday December 19th….

Slow down, relax the body, quiet the mind and open the heart

This experiential learning environment is based on a facilitated small group process
Such group support can be a personally transformative model for learning and healing


Mindfulness skills you will learn include

  • Mindful gentle movement
  • Body scan
  • Mindfulness meditation
  • Mindful eating
  • Mindful interpersonal communication (speaking and listening)
  • Other mind-body skills you will learn include journaling, self-massage, skilled relaxation and imagery

The recent MBSR 8 week course ended in mid-November. The next MBSR course will be scheduled after we complete some construction. Check back mid-January for the date of the next MBSR course.
