As a health educator, I believe these concepts are very important.
- You can develop your own unique approaches to your individual health needs and preferences
- Self-care complements your personal plan to prevent disease or integrate into your treatment and manage chronic conditions
- I can help educate, coach and support your path to well-being
- Your job is to commit to increased self-awareness and healthy behavior change
- I can help you write your own Self Care Prescription, using behavioral approaches
- I recommend that your Self Care Prescription include a commitment to “food as medicine” (healthy nutrition), at least one active physical activity, at least one reflective or contemplative activity, and keeping a journal or diary related to one or more of the following: health, relationships, spirituality, dreams and especially emotions
